Parking and Rest Area in Charlotte, NC

The McAlpine Creek Greenway Parking and Rest Area is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, on U.S. Highway 192, right off of I-40. It is also accessible via the parkway through the I-485 or Charlotte-Mecklenburg Road. There are plenty of parking options to choose from within this great area. The parking lot is situated on a concrete slab directly along the waterway and is separated from the main park by a path which will take you directly to the rest area and restrooms. In addition to the parking area in Charlotte, there is a picnic table, restrooms, a boat ramp, and information kiosk. The boat ramp is one of the best features of this rest area since it makes it very easy for boaters to leave their boats at the lake. In addition to the boat ramp, a small water station is also located on the other side of the park, in a convenient location on the opposite side of the highway. This station has fresh, clean water. The rest area serves the same purpose as the water station except that the area is less crowded with boats. There is a picnic table located right by the picnic tables that provide a great spot for a meal. There is a restroom located just off of the restroom, which is located right next to the restroom.
